Coil winding machine

Coil Winding Machine Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for a dedicated coil winding machine used on buyer bobbins, cores or formers. We help equipment buyers collect comparable factory quotations. We do not own a winding plant, hold finished-machine inventory, or act as a brand-appointed reseller of any winding OEM. Share drawings, wire size, quantity and destination to request factory quotes.

Documents before quotation

  • Drawing or process description

Identify the bobbin or former, winding width, traverse stroke, lead-routing exits and termination pads on a revision-controlled drawing. A published wire-size band such as 0.02–1.0 mm on one bobbin-winder leaflet is a feasibility envelope, not a proven layer quality on your part. Name whether stripping, taping, cutting and unloading belong in the priced process or remain manual.

  • Operating conditions

State magnet-wire diameter and insulation class, intended spindle-speed and tensioner proposal, three-phase supply, compressed-air demand for chucks, and the floor envelope. Throughput must be described as complete good coils per shift under named test conditions, not spindle revolutions alone. FAT and SAT criteria should use the same sample bobbins you will later run.

If drawings or production-intent wire are not ready, say so. Comparable quotes then rest on stated assumptions rather than silent defaults. See why an RFQ starts with the winding drawing.

Choose a quotation route

Use this band to decide whether every bidder can price the same coil winding machine task. Buyer and supplier responsibilities stay split: you own drawings, wire and destination; the equipment maker confirms feasibility for that duty; this desk coordinates quote comparison, not plant operation.

Defined specification

When bobbin OD, traverse, lead exits, wire size and termination scope are already frozen, send that package so factories quote one tooling set, one tensioner range and one recipe record. Ask which items sit in the base machine versus extras before you rank totals.

Selection still open

When flyer, needle, bobbin or toroidal heads are still competing, keep the RFQ as a comparison of process families instead of forcing one catalogue model. Review how we align manufacturer replies on the sourcing process page before you freeze a head type.

Compare procurement cost boundaries for a coil winding machine

Machine

Winding head, tensioner, chucks or roller table, control cabinet, software licence and standard tooling for the named bobbin or core. Optional strippers, tapers and unloaders belong on a separate line so they cannot hide inside a lump sum.

Delivery

Crate, fumigation if required, Incoterms, inland haul to the US destination and whether a technician travels with the crate. Freight and duties are part of total cost of procurement, not a discount story.

Site

Rigging, three-phase connection, compressed-air drops, recipe training and commissioning hours. Anchoring, pits or extra steel remain buyer-owned unless a supplier quotes them in writing.

No numerical saving claim without comparable quotations.

Which procurement scope is covered by coil winding machine?

Which bobbin and lead-routing drawings define the tooling?
Connections to confirm
Interface Buyer input
Electrical Record voltage, frequency and connected kVA the winding cell will see. A leaflet kVA figure is a connected-load hint, not proof that your feeder and grounding method are already sized.
Utilities Compressed air for chucks or brakes, extraction if enamel dust is expected, and whether a vacuum or taping station needs a separate drop. Water cooling is uncommon on small bobbin winders and should not be assumed.
Controls Name the PLC or HMI language you must inherit, recipe backup media, and any upstream/downstream start-stop handshake if the winder sits in a cell. A USB program copy is not a validated recipe on different tooling.
Which responsibilities remain with the equipment supplier and buyer?

The buyer supplies drawings, production-intent wire, quantity, destination and acceptance language. The equipment supplier confirms tooling, tension and speed for that wire, included termination devices, and what the FAT sample will prove. Coil Winding Machine Sourcing compares those answers; we do not certify coils or sign plant acceptance. Changeover recipes after the first coil are covered in tooling and recipe records.
